Actually, i think the picture would be quite cute minus the man and woman…. They are what make the pic awkward.
That’s a woman! I thought they were brothers or cousins, I do feel awkward now.

And yet the thing I immediately noticed was that sweater vest; I swear I had the exact same one (JC Penny special)…

I thought this was pretty normal until I saw the people touching the fire hydrant. While I know (hope) it is just a prop, it still makes my skin crawl thinking about touching something that dogs pee on and smiling at the same time.
What’s really awkward are her bangs.
Agree. Even more awkward than the hydrant that looks like a goofy hat sprouting out of Sparky the Fire Dog’s head.

It’s interesting that the most awkward aspect of this photo is the crazy studio fabric and lighting. If this were in front of a firetruck or something, it would just be a nice, normal picture.
The concept of a fire hydrant is that’s where the dog urinates. So why would you be leaning on it?!
I agree with much of what has been posted here….was also wondering, did they bring the prop or does the photographer keep a fire hydrant as a prop? If so, bet he’s had to wash it a few times……
